New fiberglass box coming soon *pics*

why aren't the subs mounted on the same plane? any particular reason?
They are pretty even on both sides, just the picture makes it look that way. The problem is it's such a tight fit. I'm not making the box though, so that's all I can tell ya.

wouldn't be my choice for mounting angles, but i more than understand space problems :-D

Looks like he's doing a very good job so far. My only only other quesiton would be how much clearance is behing the port? the angle of the pics hides it, but doesn't look like much, if any

Yeah it wouldn't be my choice either, but that's the only way. The port is 18" deep, and the entire depth of the box is 23". It looks like there is a couple inches or clearance.

I hope you know that tuning that enclosure is like taking a shot in the dark.

The best you could do is guess the tuning untill its fully built and the actual NET volume is taken with water/packing peanuts/rice ect..

Maybe for you. There are plenty of people who could figure out the volume if given all of the dimensions

Now that's just a stupid comment. I think I'll stick some water in my box to get the volume //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Im shure there are, but thats a lot of measurements to take.

Putting water in a fiberglass enclosure is going to tell you the exact volume.

Or placing it in a tub and calculating the water rise from the enclosures displacement.

Its waterproof so it doesnt matter. You obviously dont know what you are talking about.

Maybe you're missing all the mdf that's in there... I'm pretty sure that's what the rings and the rest of the box is made from so far. As far as I know, mdf is NOT waterproof.

Probably not going to happen. That's a lot of unnecessary work. I was just saying your idea of putting water in an enclosure is stupid, that's all. And we do have a pretty good idea of what the volume is. Maybe not exact, but enough to be pretty close. I wouldn't call it " a shot in the dark".

i used water in my mdf/fiberglass 2x12's, resinging the inside all the way is not alot of work, and if he told you it'd be easy and he knows what the volume will be when it's done, he's lying to you.

i'm sure it'll sound fine though.
