JVC KW-AVX810. Got it installed this weekend and so far so good. The best feature I must say is the detachable face. From what I hear its one of the few models that have this. Has everything CD, DVD, bluetooth, USB, SDcard, XM, and HD tuner, Only thing it doesnt have is Nav which I didnt need or want. I ran the USB cord into the glove box and have it hooked up to a 120gb portable hard drive filled with music and movies. Tell me what ya think

yeah that little flimsy thing the screen is sitting on in the first pic, no protection at all so I ordered a case logic gps case that it should fit in pretty snug

Looks great. I've always wanted one of those but I use my other DIN panel as a storage compartment which I don't want to give up.

What kinda cable do u need from HD to usb cord?

And what kinda hd you using?

Also, what movie files does it play?

I have the same radio.....i like it, just bought the pd1000 too hook up ipod, but id rather do that since i have usb already ran

Metra 99-2003 (or was it scoshe?) same kit I used in my silverado when I went DD for a short time.

How did you like hacking out the innards of the dash?

Yea...I use ALOT of 99-2003's.

You have to trim that tiny little bezel when you use Clarion or Eclipse double dins though.

It can be a pain.

I talked to Metra the other day and they said a new kit for over sized DD's are in the works.

Yep I used the metra kit, had to use the dremmel to modify it at the top. as for the usb its just a regular 2.0 usb to mini usb on the portable HDD.

it plays my divx movies so this thing is filled to the brim with music and movies. I must say the only thing that i dont really like is the time it takes to read the drive. With it filled up it takes about 30 seconds to read the whole 120 gb HDD. I have a 2 gb sd card that has stuff on it also and it reads it immediatly so i can play files on it till my HDD is loaded

Only had to trim a few plastic peices in the back

Glad to read a review on this, I am debating getting either this JVC or the Sony XAV-W1 (unless I decide on a single DIN)......... the USB and detachable face are high on my list of priorities. Whats the SQ like on this unit?
