I sent you a PM

They Type R Alpines are a little bright but i do have the gains for the Tweeter turned down and the midbass sounds great in my buddys truck and well not so great in my Jeep but there is a 2 year differance there between speakers i am going to say mine are about 5yrs old now and have been beaten on pretty hard and his are not even a year old. Do I guess my options are Diamond Audio Hex Series or I was also looking at Focal maybe a set in the $500 Range or has anyone listened to Hertz? Thanks

type r's bright??? when i got my first coaxial set, i found them to be the least bright, most neutral of all i listened... including JL, JBL/Infinity, Pioneer D(close), and Hertz energy series (the orange ones). maybe the components are different but don't they have attenuation?

The Diamond Audio Hex tweeters are very bright and harsh. The Hex Series comes in a H600A and H600S, A for aluminum and S for silk. If you can find a silk set go for those.

Ill see what i can get my hands on so how about Focal? as in the Polyglass series or the K2 i got a guy that can get me into a set of the K2 for about $600 claims they are $1200 new but i guess i have never listened to Focal before and he doesnt have any set up to listen to but has installed alot of em and claims that if i do a set of K2 up front and a Polyglass Coaxial and one of their 13in subs on a JL900/5 ill have a complete set up and it will be crystal clear and i guess this one 13 is going to pound as hard as my 2 12's and its a much more musical sub any takes on Focal ???

Doesnt Focal have alot of good midbass too? I guess as long as its a well balanced speaker system it doesnt really matter its just that i swear my type R's are just straight trebble I am just looking for something with a nice warm sound to it
