new cd player turning on and off need help

just put in new pioneer 150 i think it is. anyway replaced the cassete player that came with truck that worked fine just wanted cd player. so went to best buy and got a alpine and it worked good for few days then started turning on and off repeatedly so returned it and got pioneer and now its doing the same thing so dont know if its my wiring or just bad luck and 2 bads units?as soon as i turn it to acc or start the truck it flashes on and off repeatedly, some times it will stay on but not usually. i checked voltage and got 12.3v with it on acc but it was staying on that day couldnt get it to mess up for nothing to see if volts went up and down when it turned on and off.yall think thats my wiring or unit? would that be a power wire or ground wire you think with a short?

When you say 'flashes on and off' - I assume you mean the entire deck is going on and off (display and everything), not just sound cutting in and out - right?

Sounds like a wiring problem. Did you twist-and-tape the connections, or use crimp tubes, or solder, or something else? Carefully check the +12 (unswitched/batt) power connection, the ground connection and the switched power (ACC or IGN) connection. Pull on them and see if one is loose.

yes the display and all, it doesnt even come on long enough to get any sound out of the speakers.

think i have it fixed if so it was the yellow memory wire.

Yep - the yellow is the unswitched +12v. That would make sense. Hope it keeps working for you.
