I'm going to have a 1994 Olds 88 royal soon, and I want to move my Pioneer P-6000 deck to my new car. I measured the old factory unit (tape deck and radio only), its taller than my Pioneer deck but its width is just about the same i think. Anyone know of a way to mount this? I assume a new front plate adapter or something, if so could someone tell me where to purchase one?

I just thought of one more thing, my car has a power antena, and I know that if I hook it up to the remote lead it will make it go up when the deck powers up. The problem is I don't use the radio much and when i'm using the cd player I don't want my antena up, is there anyway to wire it so that it doesn't stay up all the time?

Yeah when you install the new head unit most of them have a power antenna output wire on them that you can connect to. A lot of these questions will be answered once you go thru the installation section in the manual for your new head unit.

Yeah I know a manual would probley tell me what I needed to know, but I bought this deck used from a friend who has long since lost it. That was why I asked. If this deck doesn't have a dedicated power antenna lead could I parrallel a switch off the remote wire to send the antenna up and down? and if so would this still allow the remote to power up a amp or something?

As far as I know this deck is about 1.5-2 years old, and it has a few labels on the wiring harness. The remote wire is a blue and while wire, and I don't see anything labeled power antenna, but that just could be from the fact not every wire has a label. Anyone have any experience with this deck that could tell me?

Out of the amps you mentioned Kenwood 805 hands down best bang for the buck. You won't be able to tell any difference from 5x7 to 6.5. You may...

I agree with every one above. OFC is much better. Copper is a much better conductor than aluminum.
