New car sound system

So i figured I'd get everyone's input before making any serious decisions on what to get:

- 2 Alpine 12" Type X

- 2 Hole Sealed Box

- Not too sure what amp to get yet so any suggestions? I'd rather stick with alpine but will consider anything...I'm thinkin an amp at 500 RMS x 2 at 4 ohm would be great for my subs

- Also considering a capacitor but don't really know too much about which to buy and what are good capacitor brands but considering a 2 to 3 farad capacitor but any suggestions for what kind and other specs about the capacitor would be very helpful!!

So yeah, that's basically it? Any feedback and any suggestions would be perfect!

Needing suggestions with amps and capacitors, thanks!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

bolded part, wtf are you talking about?

- If your stuck on getting the Type X, you definitely need at least 1000W per sub, or those things aren't going to move.

- Do a search on the Big 3 electrical upgrade instead of getting a capacitor, a capacitor will not do much if you plan on really getting those type X's to move with 1000 Watts each.

- Instead of spending money on the cap, use that money to get a custom box built.

These guys are right, you will need some serious power to 2 type X's. They are nice subs, but your going to need some cash to power them. I considered type X at one time, but I went with Boston G-5 instead. Awesome sound quality, mighty beefy, and you don't need alot of power to make them pound. Very effiecent subs.

Wow you guys had a lot to say, thanks for all the help. Im not really stuck on the type x's but i love alpine, always had great experiences with them and honestly anything more powerful then the type x's is really too much because i want to bump, but not compete or anything even close to that lol, but what i was thinking was a 500 rms amp for each of them (2 amps) would be good enough for my subs since each is about 1000 rms and that only reason i started considering a cap was just because lately all i've been hearing is all this bull about how you NEED a cap and everything and honestly, anything to help drain less energy from the car and anything in the car to the subs would be great. And yeah i have also been considering the big 3 upgrade but then i figured i might as well wait and see how it is that my car handles everything. I also have the aftermarket hid's that i put in, chipped out, 20" rims (which really ****ed up the ride a bit with turns, holes, and speed), underglow, cold air intake, all the led's, map lights, and dome lights were all swapped for stronger ones. These are just all the little things that i did to it that i think might have some effect on the battery/alternator, everything else i did to it i don't think would have that big an effect on the battery. O by the way, i have an 04 nissan murano which i'll be putting pics up soon if anyone is interested lol. But yeah, with everything i said, big 3 is the best way to go right??

Your going to need 2000-3000 RMS on a pair of type X's

Your going to need 0 awg to run to the back

a custom built box by either a shop or one of the wonderful users on this forum

big 3 upgrade (search it if you don't know what it is)

A battery in the rear of the car (look up Battcap)

Also, from running 2-3 kw your speakers are most likely going to be drowned from the bass

So a nice set of components with a 2-4 channel amp
