New car, new stereo. I need some help!

I have a Phoenix Gold Xenon 600.1 Class D mono amp.
Nice amp! In that case, maybe get 2 of the PPI flat cone subs or a single 10 or 12 that will handle all 600ish watts (whatever it's birth sheet says).

If you're wanting to up the budget, then I'll change my recommendation for the amp from the Infinity 5 channel to an Alpine PDX-4.150.

also, get a kenwood cleansweep since you aren't replacing the HU....thats what i will be doing. it makes a clean signal go to the amp, so your sound is reproduced cleanly.
I hope you meant JL CleanSweep. And the 3Sixty is a much better choice, imo. Can be set as a fully active crossover including bandpass, which the JL lacks, iirc.

Alright, I think I am set here.

Budget - $1450

I will take a ride over to that place and see if they can do all of this work.

I think I only want one sub, because I listen to Metal music and I need a nice tight reponse for all of those kick drums.

oh yeah, sorry.

wait, so with the 3sixty you wouldnt need a seperate crossover for components? or am i thinking of a diff type of crossover?

Nope, you're on the money there. The 3Sixty has high pass, low pass, or band pass selectable configurations for all channels.

hmm....im still a bit confused...so when you can set passes for the outputs which go to the amp? wouldnt the amp also have to have the same low, high and bandpass filters?

He means the new Stereo Integrity Mag/ BM //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
Well, they're not out yet. When they are out - yes, that's what I mean. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif For now though, there are plenty of options that will do the job - like the new RE shallow sub.

So I this point, I have the following things I need to buy:

Rockford Fosgate 3sixty

Apline PDX 4.150 amp

KOL-AK44 wiring kit

I already have the 600 watt sub amp, but should I get something in the 1000-2000 watt range instead?

Now I need 4 speakers, a 10" sub and a sealed sub box for $1000, any suggestions for those? Looking for whatever will sound the best for the money, and will work with that alpine amp.

1. so when you can set passes for the outputs which go to the amp?

2. wouldnt the amp also have to have the same low, high and bandpass filters?
1. You can hook up whatever 3Sixty outputs to whatever amp inputs you want.

Example for setting up an active front stage with a xover point of 3000Hz:

-HU Front into 3S front.

-HU Rear into 3S rear.

-Set 3S front (front tweeters) for HP 3000Hz.

-Set 3S rear (front mids) for BP 80Hz HP, 3000Hz LP.

-Set 3S sub for BP 20Hz HP, 80Hz LP.

-3S front outputs to 2 channels of an amp.

-3S rear outputs to different 2 channels of an amp.

-3S sub output to a sub amp.

2. The xovers on the amp won't even need to be turned on since the 3S will be doing all the xover duties; set the amp's xo's to all pass/full range.

Also, does anyone know how much I could get for my old PG 12" subs?

I need something new for the rear, because I have people riding back there a lot.

I think I am going to go with the Pioneers front and rear, and I will take a look at that sub. Is there another sub that would be a better option if I spend some more money on it?

I am not able to build my own enclosure, so whats a decent one to order? I am still thinking about getting one made of Red fiberglass.

It's your car, so only worry about yourself, not your back seat riders. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif Besides, if you get a strong enough front stage, it'll be enough for the entire cabin of a Mazda 3 and won't screw up the sound stage and imaging when rear full range speakers are present. Like I recommended, try it without rears for a while, then make a determination afterwards. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

If you're wanting to get another amp that's got more output like the PDX-1.1000, then check into the Fi Q 10 d2 sub. Positive comments on the Arc Flatline here (only available in 12" though).

Fiberglass would be sweet, but if you want a wood box, just look for one that is the appropriate volume and made of at least 3/4" thick MDF.
