New Car - New Head Unit - Big Plans

Hey guys, long time no see!

Well, I've completed my first year of college and I've bought myself my first car that I actually own (and not my dad). It's a 1998 Dodge Avenger. It's a 5 speed (still have to learn that) with 108,XXX miles and for $2,000 it's not bad.

However, I'm looking to take this system install into a different route than in the past. I'm aware that some newer decks have USB ports. Being a Pioneer fan boy, I was specifically looking at something such as the Pioneer DEH-P5000UB as it falls into a good budget of around $150.

Alright, what do I want to do with that you ask? Well, being the lazy *** I am, I loved burning mp3 CDs over regular CDs, but now even that isn't enough. I want to mount an external hard drive in the car somewhere, such as the glove box and connect it to the deck. This way, if I want to put new songs on it, I could just take my HDD inside and plug it into my computer. This allows for pretty much an endless amount of songs on a 500GB HDD.

Is this even possible? How are the navigation controls when browsing through over 500 folders? Any better USB decks for around $150? Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks as always,

Drunkship
