what could be causing....

my dads headunit to look like this. i dont know the model number an di just snapped these before he went out to work tonight. he just bought the truck and the guy who he bought it from had the whole system redone with pioneer speakers in all doors and this headunit. thats as much as i know. he said it was like this when he got it.

any ideas?
