New Boxes For The L7's... -Pics-

i have used both, i dont see an advantage if you use enough glue, nail gun will save time, done have to drill pilot holes. but maybe the threads on teh screws hold it together better? idk.

How is nail gun vs screws? Which you think is better. I can get a pretty good nail gun pretty cheap if I am patient. Is it better than screws?

I only use a brad nailer now. Screws take too long, and the brads look so much better, plus they save alot of time. As long as you use glue they hold together fine.

Yeah, I used to do the screw thing, pre drilling, flush mounting, trying to hold boards in place while you do it all... And then, I ran upon the brad nailer... I will never go back... I used brad nails and titebond2 on my old box, it made the windshield flex like crazy, and I rode around with it blasting just about everyday, used it for about 5 months... And turned around and sold it yesterday for $80... You don't even have to use tons of glue... Use the same amount you normally would... They'll hold things together better than you think... And it just soooo much easier... It only takes me a couple hours to make a box now, opposed to 6 or 8... And he's right, it does look alot cleaner... I won't make another box with screws unless I have to...

BTW - Just make sure you're running around 300 PSI behind the nail gun... I forgot to turn the compressor on and it was low PSI... Nails didn't go in worth a flip, had to pull 'em out and start again...

that is way to much pressure. i only use 80-100 and my compressor only goes to 150 and it is a 30 gallon, sont know what kind you have that runs 300. but nice boxes and nice subs.

Well... I took out the back seat , and I'm replacing it with these two sub boxes and a wedge box in the middle that will hold my Orion p6.2 comp set, my Orion 1200D, and my Kinetik HC 2400... I just got done with these boxes tonight, I'm goin to start putting them in and making the wedge tomorrow... I took the plan that MoeLester has posted in "box plans"... The 2.95 Cube @ 34Hz...
I built that same box for my L7, so I know that setup will sound great //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif
