You wouldn't absolutely have to use two SVC 4 Ohm subs to achieve that desired 2 Ohm final load. You could use two DVC 2 Ohm subs and get the same thing. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
For a $500 you can get set up pretty well, IMO.
Options:
You could get one of the reputable box builders on here to get you a quality vented box for around $150/shipped or less then that leaves $350 or a little more for a pair of subs.
You could do the same as above only substitute a pair of subs for a single badass sub that I assure you would get just as loud (probably louder) than the 'Bahns you're currently running. (I'd be willing to wager my Diamond M6 will get louder than those 'Bahns and it's not designed to be an SPL sub...)
Buy some enclosure plans from one of the reputable designers here for $10~$15, spend $50 on materials to build your own box and that leaves you over $425 for the sub(s)
Have a look through the classifieds and see if you can find someone selling something that suits you already in a box. $500 would likely score some pretty decent gear, IMO.
There are other options as well - just depends on what you want the gear to do for you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
Their are alot of subs you could choose from. You dont have to have single voice coil subs. 2 dual 2 ohm subs will wire at 2 ohms as well. Some subs to consider with your power would be 12d2 pg octane zrs, ect... Their are plenty options, that just comes to mind off the bac
Best to tune your enclosure for 35-38Hz, if you're mostly interested in rap. The exact tuning will depend on your drivers and cabin response, but that's a general idea of where to go...
You'll learn a lot from doing it yourself, but if you're crunched for time or lack the tools you could have someone build it for you. There are plenty of reputable box builders on here scattered throughout the country; I'm sure you could find someone relatively close to you to build an enclosure.
what car/truck/suv/train/boat/bike/4wheeler/plane/bridge/building do u have that you are working with lol. this box could be for anything. give us the car and all and how much room u have. take ur tape measurer to ur car and find max demensions. come back and let us know. if u can fit 5 cubes in your truck, 2 type r 12's would suit u from the rage i hear on here. matter of fact, i picked up two myself haha. if not...something like 1 single 15 SX may suit you better. let us know
I have a box that I no longer need for two 12's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
It measures 20" deep x 36" wide x 16" tall, tuned to 35Hz. Sounds awsome with the HX2's I currenty have it in, but the HX2's are going in a trade, so I dont need to box.. It is uncovered, PM me if you are interested. I will let it go for relatively cheap (btw psychoticnemis1s built it, he is a user here.)
