new box for ma audio subs

i have two 12's ma audio xl's in a sealed box with bout 1.5cuft on each side for them and i was planning on porting them would 4 ft be enough?

im going to be tuning low bout 27-29 as i like sound quality. it sounds great right now and is loud enough to put out a lighter. but i want more out of them without sacraficing the quality and punchyness i get from them in the box i have right now, well any input? just so you know most of the stuff i listen to is metal and ocaisional rap. shooting for 70% spl 30% sq and i still want the punch

ive been looking at some of the box plans, just like some input on what would be the best for my needs

if you wanting 70% SPL as you say, you probably gonna wanna tune higher into the high 30s. 35, 36, 37 around there should be nice.

Are you asking if 4 cu. foot will be enough for both or just one?

for both subs together. well i guess id probably want it 50% spl bcuz from what i heard in other cars that were tuned to around34-40 it was sloppy and didnt have the punch

that could have been his subs them self or the amp making them sound a little mushy. are they same subs and amp you run?

I would suggest 35 hz. It is a happy medium between the two. Set your filters right on your amp and you should be set.

no it sounds good right now they are in a sealled box. but i was wanting it louder than what it is now
