New, bigger, louder. Opinions? Jeep Grand Cherokee wj.

So for this coming black friday, I know there are gonna be some pretty good deals. But I'm thinking I could do something different. I was considering getting 2 FU 18s and getting a cutsheet from CSCStang. The subs would cost $320 shipped. However, I began to consider a different idea. 6 alpine bass line 12s instead. They would cost $330 if I get them from sonic. And I would have a good chunk more cone area. The box would be 40x30x26. Any input on what would be better as far as getting loud? Hair tricks would be nice too. Either would be an upgrade from my single Fi q 15.

6 12s wall. You can upgrade the 12s later on when your budget grows. It is a lot more cone area. For the budget woofers, i know these names aren't appetizing but they do put in work though if you plan on putting a lot of power to the subs, there's rockville k6 and lanzar max pros that do well, which are almost to the level of soundqubed hds212s in terms of motor and voicecoil

If this guy can pull a 145 off two rockville 10s, you should definitely get a decent score with 6 12s.

However if you want to keep the power the same than the basslines work too.

I'd be more than willing to wall, but I have no earthly idea on how to do it. I want to keep my backseats though. If I do that and decide to wall off the back I will have roughly a 40x30x35 box. Some more cubes would be added with some different spots, but I really do not know how. Advice?

So, build the box and then seal off the sides around it? Would I use foam or try cutting pieces of mdf to fit the area? Also, the subs will be powered by the gold vfl 150.1 I just bought from 1980supreme. I think I might get the Lanzar subs. I went to Rockville's website and couldn't figure anything out. I thought they weren't selling anymore?

Seems like they discontinued it. dang that was quick. Yeah, you need to secure the box, seal off top sides and bottom, foam works, a beauty panel works too. These two vids might help you out. Its a wall build for 6 12s.

Before you go building this wall, have you considered the weight of everything and then adding in passengers? Especially if you do it at the c-pillar. I was going to do a c pillar wall and keep my back seats but once i had the wall, subs, amps, and then added 4-5 people in the vehicle I was pretty much at the limit (notice i didn't throw batteries in yet). Payload of the wj is 1000 lbs, just something else to think about

Yes. The subs only weigh 10 lbs a piece. The box should weigh about 300 lbs after everything if I double baffle, add subs, bracing, etc. I dunno if I really need to double up on each wall though. I'm using 6 alpine bass line 12s. They weigh 10lbs a piece.
