I just got a brand new Infinity Basslink from my roommate who found it in his closest, still factory sealed lol..

Anyways i want to put it into my 05 chevy cav becuz even tho i dont have a "pimpin" ride i would still like some good sound, but to be honest i have no idea what im doing.

My car has a stock cd player and i want to run it to that i just need some help maybe to just answer my questions give me some tips and what not !

you will need an amp kit an 8awg wll probably suffice for it, you can either run hi level inputs or low level inputs with a line out put converter i would suggest using a line out put converter

Alright, i have been looking around and that stuff actually so ima need to get a 8g wire kit, for the Fuse/power/ground/RCA/Rem wires plus the converter to connect via RCA

But ..do i cuz the hmm will say rear speaker wires on the back of the head unit to splice in the converter?

Also what do i do about the remote wire ?

What happens if i dont have the fuse on the power wire, you know after its connected to battery i run it for like what a foot then place the fuse and run the rest of the power wire right ?

Thnx

Also if i want to add a on/off switch say next to my truck switch since the power wire is running that way anyways does it matter the size of power wire im using ?

you always want to run your fuse as close to the batt as possible. i had a 03 cav. exact same as yours. the best way to run the power wire is down the drive side. if you look under the dash you will see a large rubber ring that sits in a hole in the firewall that has some wires coming through it. you can cut a small

hole in that and run the wire through there. i had the fuse just inside the cabin of the car from that whole

if you have any questions later in the install about how to run wires just let me know. i know those cavs inside and out

i would put the fuse no more than 12" from the battery the short the better, and as far as a remote wire go to the column you will find a big pink wire or a big brown wire either will work as a remote wire

Thnx a bunch everyone has helped a bunch lol...i went and got a 8awg wire kit since that's what the first guy said would do, ok the amp is only 200w so i could prolly go with 20 or 12 but i decided 8 so i can upgrade amp later ....i got it for 40 and now have to return it cvuz i found a cheaper one at walmart LOL, since they might not give money back i Might be getting a cd player today Tehe which is going to make installation ezer with RCA cables tehe

Thnx for telling me to but the switch on the remote wire and just so i have it clear...

when i flip it off the amp will lose all power? running of the remote wire?

Thnx for all help and incoming help!
