New Audio System!! Need Expert Advice!!

Ok, I'm kind of new to the car audio world. I just purchased 2 Audiobahn A1600V, 3000W max output Monoblock amps (1600W x 1 RMS @ 2 Ohms or 800W RMS @ 4 ohms) pushing 2 12" Pioneer Dual Voice Coil Subs that are 3000W peak with a true RMS of 1000W each. My question is, should I wire my system at 2 or 4 ohms? Is there a big difference in sound quality? Also I have an 03 Chevy Trailblazer with the original stock 150 amp alternator. Should I purchase an aftermarket High Output Alternator? Do I need to change the Big 3? I already have a Optima yellowtop battery. Should I purchase 2 power caps installation kits or are they useless in my situation? The music I listen to has excessive bass and would like a LOUD, crisp, clean sound. I know I have a lot of questions but any guidance and any other advice you would like to give would definitely be appreciated. Thanks for your help!!!

what ohms are the subs?

big 3 - yes

You should be fine with that alt. Do the big 3 and see how it goes from there though.

I would get a second batt too instead of those power caps.

Caps FTL!

I would run the amps at 2ohms and just detune the amps a tad to match your subs adequately. Did you buy Dual 4ohm subs or Dual 2ohm subs?

You probably dont need an alternator just yet, but you should consider more batteries. Do not buy capacitors.

Yes, you should do the Big 3.

And Class D amplifiers dont generally have great quality, but put in the most simplistic way - you honestly shouldn't notice a difference in sound quality running your amps at 2ohm or 4ohm, just a power increase.

Those are some nice subs! I was going to get just one, but I am on a budget and got the cheaper line of Pioneer subs. Hopefully they will suffice for now.

Also run the amps at 2 ohms and you will be fine. Not big on Audiobahn, but their amps are ok I suppose. Hated their sub line up.

Good luck!

If I were you I would buy a ho alternator, but I guess you could get away it, actually probaly not, purchase an ho alternator...
At 2-ohms he will be running 1600rms with two amps. As long as he does the big 3 and uses that dry cell, he will be fine on the 150amp alternator. Spending well over 300 some dollars for 50amps is not worth it if you ask me on the watts he is using.

If he was running over 2k, then maybe.
