New and need help...

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif ok, i'm building up my wrangler and right now and i have (1) Kicker CVR 10" (05CVR102) and a Kicker ZX300.1 Amp in the mail with a 8 guage wiring kit (05 PK8). I have built my own box and what i need to know is how/ and what kind of wires do i need to get in order for my sub to connect to my terminal cup? I have a 2 ohm sub and i have no idea what the "ohms" mean in relation to wiring, but all i know is that there are 4 plugs on the sub and only 2 on my cup. Any info on anything is appreciated.

speaker wire. Probably use 12 guage, the bigger the better i think, but 16 guage would suffice. Your sub must be a DVC or Dual Voice Coil if it has 4 plugs. Should be able to handle 1 ohm, if you amp can? Don't feel like researching at the moment, but if so just wire the wires in parrallel or positive to positive on the sub and one of those positives to the positive on the cup and to the positive on the amp. Same with negs...heres a pic:

hmm says 2 ohms, looked it up. Hook up is really easy then. I dont have a picture, but go to http://www.rockfordfosgate.com and support to woofer wiring wizard. Type in 1 sub at 2ohm X 2 i think? well anyways it looks like you'll have to wire it at 4ohms since its a 2 ohm sub. Could use some backup on this from the pros though, im still just learning myself. what do you think the odds are of circuit city letting me exchange it for the 4 ohm model? i bought it a week ago with the warranty and havent done anything to it except for cut the top of the box off?

i would try...by having to wire it at 4 ohm you are loosing about half the power....i would try to get a 4 ohm sub and wire it parralle
