New and need help on speakers and stereo

As the title says I need help right now. I have a 96 mustang with crappy front stock speakers and crappy pioneers in the rear. The rear makes a lot of noise and sounds like junk. I was going to just not worry about it. My dad bought a pair of rear Memphis speakers in the back the model is the "power reference". The problem is my head unit is an old 2003 Sony Xplod model "cdx-l410x" its specs are 22 watts RMS/45 peak x 4 channels CD frequency response 10-20,000 Hz CD signal-to-noise ratio 90 dB ..... Is it going to even make a difference with the crappy head unit, or are the speakers just to good to be put with a crappy head unit...

It might sound ok with new speakers in there, but you will never get really good sound off of head unit power.

If you are an audiophile at all, installing a small 4 channel amp is well worth the hassle of installing it.

yea upgrade the stock and add a small 4ch. you can find cheap ones on here or ebay.....usually can get old alpine 4ch on ebay cheap and they are excellent low power 4ch amps.

if you already got some memphis for the back you can grab this stuff and have a decent sound. you will be under 150 for all of it. maybe even close to 100 if you get one of the amps cheap.....doubt your going to beat that. the amps i showed are great sq amps too.

You have nothing to lose trying the new speakers. Sometimes it makes a world of difference even on HU power.

I've ran one of the old low power Sony 4 channels, excellent SQ amp, can't be beat for 50 bucks.
