New and need help choosing amp.

im still pretty newb to car audio, so i figured i'd check with you experienced guys before i threw down cash on a crap amp.

i just bought a orion hcca 15.2 from a local shop for cheap, but can't find a amp for it.

i was thinking about a Orion HCCA-D5000, it seems to match up ok, but it would be giving the sub 500 watts over the rms.

so can anyone give me some advice on a good amp for this sub. im low on cash btw //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif. i want it as loud as it could get. i want to run it at 1 ohm and it will be in a 3.5cf ported box tuned to 35

sub is 2000/4000/5000 rms/max/burp

you can get a hell of an amp for 600 but shit for 389 you could get an AQ 2200, 2200 RMS at 1 ohm.

lol no need to bash except for the max part. the max of the sub means nothing. its the RMS thats matters. so in ur case it looks like its 2000 watts rms. also what is your electrical system like do you have big 3 done or anything like that?

oh alright.

i have a yellow top under the hood, big 3 done with 1/0 and a 180 alt.

in the trunk i have 2 18 farad caps. 1 1 farad cap and a 800a stinger battery

alright sounds like your electrical is good. but theres really no need for the caps. search on this site about caps and you'll see why. what amp were you running before or now?

i had a soundstream pca2000d running 2 kicker l7s and a hifonics zues running my comps and coaxials. yea ive had the caps for a while. and after reading about them a little, i was'nt even goning to put them in, but then i said screw it, they look pretty and i paid for them, lol.
