i dont know how good this would work but...

i got a quote for a new high amperage alternator for my car (2003 ford taurus) and it was about $450 dollars. before i do that, what if i tried to take an alternator off an older large ford van and put it in my car. would this work as long as the pulley diameter was the same so that the belt didnt have to be diffrent?

just a thought. let me know what you think

I would worry more if the alternator mounts up in the factory mounts. You can always change the pulleys out if they dont fit. I really dont think this will work, but who knows.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

it wouldn't be as powerful as a high amperage amp but i'd be better than i have now, at least temprorarily untill the summer, i have some big plans then //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif
