New Alpine loaded type r enclosure

I found an Alpine ported box loaded with the new type r 10, kinda like what Alpine made with the old type r. I didnt have time to get info on it but it looked like a really high quality box, similar to something you would see the JL w6v2s in. It was one ten ported, with the port running horizontally below the sub. the face of the box was lined in black vinyl and had an aluminum strip across the box with the Alpine logo on it, so i assume this is something they make. Do any of you know anything about this setup?

I wouldn't mind doing that, and i think it would be a fun box to build for a first project but this is a pretty cool package which looks a lot nicer than your typical setup. I finally found the model number for the box it the Alpine SBR-S102V but couldnt find much more than that. I want to know things like volume, tuning, price, and what other peoples impressions are i know theres gotta be a few people on here with this thing.

im sure its tuned 2 pretty high and a arm and a leg, u can get a much better box than that and u can get it fancy also. stay away from prefab, im telling u be4 u waste ya money. build your own if u wanna go that route, but if u gonna buy an prefab, get a custom built box.

the boxes are terrible for the woofs... just not the right design for em. Built to save space, not to maximize performance.

**** i was thinking these would sound prime. i went back to the dealer today and test fitted the box in the trunk of my Gto and depth-wise it barely fits in there and takes up about as much room as id be willing to give up. wtf... i want something thats gonna put out some legit bass, but i dont want to take up my whole trunk with a crazy box. the only reason this is such a big problem in the first place is if any of u guys know how the 05 Gto is setup, the gas tank is in the trunk, which will buffer the sound and seriously cut down on workable space.

yea, i wouldnt want awhole lot in a gto. dont wanna weigh it down when ya runnin those civics there. single 12 in a good box would be fine. spend some time and build a nice size 1 yaself. cheaper that way.

yeah those boxes are lined with polyfil btw, so sub thinks its bigger i guess...

Ill probably end up doing either a ten or a twelve sealed in a side mounted fiberglass enclosure. I want a clean, hard hitting sub with some serious output, something again that would be going into a sealed box. What are some ideas? I do listen to mostly rock, but get some rap in there occasionaly.
