Yep, I'm curious to know how their Class D implementation sounds vs. other good Class AB amps...Those PDX amplifiers look freaking slick.
Assuming they properly designed the amplifier (which, for that price point, should be a given)....you probably would not be able to hear an audible difference.Yep, I'm curious to know how their Class D implementation sounds vs. other good Class AB amps...
Wow Squeak, that's quite an endorsement considering it's from you. What are you running now?Assuming they properly designed the amplifier (which, for that price point, should be a given)....you probably would not be able to hear an audible difference.
I've been seriously considering ditching my current amps and picking up some of these. They are just drop dead gorgeous.
Coustic Design Reference and Soundstream Rubicon amplifiers (both highly regarded, old school amplifiers).Wow Squeak, that's quite an endorsement considering it's from you. What are you running now?
Yeah, much higher efficiency over class A/B, especially at lower power levels where most class A/B amps are around 33% efficient and most class D amps are around 65%. But, in all honesty....with no more power than frontstage amplifiers have the difference in actualy amperage draw is relatively insignificant. The main benefit is for large subwoofer amplifiers. Also, isn't Class D a lot more efficient in power efficiency and doesn't tax the electrical system as much?
That amp is definitely clean...but doesn't do it for me nearly as much as these new Alpine's do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gifThese have pretty good *** appeal IMO also....http://www.eclipse-web.com/amp/xa4000.html
