New 2012 Type R?

Anyone else care to share their experience with the new type r's.
I dont like mine nearly as much as my 1043d. Could be because now that they are 1000 watts rms, I am underpowering it. I had 750 watts going to each sub, and the older model hit harder in my opinion. Anyone wanna trade me a dual 2 ohm for my dual 4 ohm?

i put it back on my orion hp2800 at 4 ohms. if i hooked it up to a hfi1000 do you think it would play fine? no more hot cone or anything?
U can hook it up to any amp known to man and be fine as long as you are sending it clean power.... A 5k amp can be set to send only 500watts if thats all you require... I dnt think u were overpowering the sub I think your clipping it to death.

this is a good image to show the difference between a clean signal and a clipped signal. Do you see how the orange line is flat on top, cause the top part of the wave is "clipped" off. This means it is no longer a changing(alternating) current, it is DC. This is bad for speakers. You clip a signal when the signal you are sending is at a higher voltage than the MOSFETS can handle at the gain you set them for. The fets no longer have enough "juice" to amplify the signal at that gain, turning up the gain isn't going to get much more power, they're already giving all that they've got.

How musical is the new TypeR?
well guys. i have no idea what is going on but i cannot power my subs for some reason.

all of my wires is connected correctly to my Audiocontrol LC2i (tapped front speaker wires for signal) and RCA going to highs amp and RCA going to lows amp.....

for some reason my sub amp isnt getting any signal at all. its not the amp because this is the second amp i tried (brand new)
