I dont like mine nearly as much as my 1043d. Could be because now that they are 1000 watts rms, I am underpowering it. I had 750 watts going to each sub, and the older model hit harder in my opinion. Anyone wanna trade me a dual 2 ohm for my dual 4 ohm?Anyone else care to share their experience with the new type r's.
Keep on clipping it and you might get urself another 3-5mins of play time before they go poof.hooked mines up to my cousins hfi1500 yesterday.. only played for about 3 or 4 minutes an you could smell a little burning and the cone was real hot lol
U can hook it up to any amp known to man and be fine as long as you are sending it clean power.... A 5k amp can be set to send only 500watts if thats all you require... I dnt think u were overpowering the sub I think your clipping it to death.i put it back on my orion hp2800 at 4 ohms. if i hooked it up to a hfi1000 do you think it would play fine? no more hot cone or anything?
can you explain what clipping is. still dont know the difference between that and overpoweringU can hook it up to any amp known to man and be fine as long as you are sending it clean power.... Got a picture with another sub for comparison...Just got an 843D...impressive for it's size!
cool i get it now. and he did have everything on the amp turned up i turned the gain down on my amp toohttp://www.co-bw.com/Guitar%20Files/Guitar%20Amplifiers%20-%20Overdrive%20&%20Distortion_files/f_clip.gif
this is a good image to show the difference between a clean signal and a clipped signal. Do you see how the orange line is flat on top, cause the top part of the wave is "clipped" off. This means it is no longer a changing(alternating) current, it is DC. This is bad for speakers. You clip a signal when the signal you are sending is at a higher voltage than the MOSFETS can handle at the gain you set them for. The fets no longer have enough "juice" to amplify the signal at that gain, turning up the gain isn't going to get much more power, they're already giving all that they've got.
well guys. i have no idea what is going on but i cannot power my subs for some reason. How musical is the new TypeR?
