New 2012 Type R?

really? ive been throwing my current type r 850 watts for about 4 months daily driving and a few times ive been plahying my music for 2 hours straight playing music for the parties in my school lol it never missed a beat.

I ran a BC2000 at .5ohms for a while on a pair of the last 12s. THEY CAN TAKE OVER RATED.

Im getting some soon. The 104d's. I blew my 1043d's and the warranty is replacing them with these. Only problem is my amp is only 1200 RMS which was perfect for the old subs, Im afraid I will be underpowering these too much.

how is warranty replacing them when the current type r's are still in stock and blowing a sub is your fault lol.... not hatin im jus sayin thats awesome tho!

i am planning on running 850 watts to each sub thats not underpowering too much

Underpowering doesn't hurt subs.

sonic says 600 rms but reccamended rms 1000.

ive heard they are 1000 rms MEANT that way...and are more sloppy but hit much harder they are VASTLY different than ALL type r previous models from what i heard

Had 1500W going to 2 12" 2011 models. They took it very well.

if i get em ill probly give them 800-850 watts each. how would it sound sloppy at its peak rms rating? they should sound better than the 2011 type r's

The amount of power the sub actually was getting was no where near 850 after impedance rise.

People on here have got type r's into the upper 140s, thats obviously giving them more power than they are rated for.

Any sub will handle more than its rated for if you are careful, the problem comes from the decreased reliability and life of the product when exposed to more than its rated for and thats why all of these small companies with over engineered products are succeeding.

A subwoofer is a magnetic coil with an inductance. When you input AC current, impedance (or resistance on a DC circuit) varies depending on the frequency of the AC signal.

A woofer has its own impedance rise at the Fs of the woofer. The amount of this rise is noted in ts parameters as 'Z'. Many people do not realize this and understand that the impendance they are calling "impedance rise" is actually there with the woofer out of the box. But that being said, putting the woofer in a box also creates additional impedance spikes due to the box resonance and the port tuning.

For example, spl competitors wire ~.5ohms on a 1 ohm stable amp, know that they will rise to over 1 ohm with impedance rise, to get the most power out of their setup.
