I called Cerwin Vega about matching speakers to my needs. I told the rep I am building a humble system like I had in my last vehicle. This vehicle being a 2k2 Z71 Extended Cab. Not lots of power or big subs. Just Clean accurate sound. My Amp peaks @ 75wattsX4 & 180watts on the Sub.
Upon being interviewed on the vehicle type, amp & head unit he recommended the HED 6.5 components - front and the HED 4x6 plates - rear.
He also recommended nesting the speakers in pink panther insulation. Something about the doors not acting as the right size enclosures.
Anyone ever done this?
I am in the process of putting the following together.
Alpine CDA-7894 - Installed
Alpine TUA-T020XM - Installed. LOVE THAT XM!
Alpine MRP-F320 Amp - Mounted & Waiting for interconnects and Components to arrive
Cerwin Vega HED-1602 - Waiting on UPS to get it here
Cerwin Vega HED-1462P - Installed in rear doors nested in Pink Panther. Waiting.
JL Audio 8.1 Micro Sub - Mounted under rear seat angled towards the floor. Waiting.
So I am listening to the Alpine and the OE fronts for now.
What up with the nesting?
