theres no best. What type of music do you listen to? do you care more for sound quality or loudness, or a mix of both? and budget concerns? space limitations? what are your installation abilities? etc etc etc

well i have no buget i listen to all music so something that will bump with the rap but also sound good with rock and that stuff, i have a 98 blazer and lots of room in the back so there are really no limitations, how are the kicker solobaric L7's

I have heard a 10" L7... and it got surprisingly loud. SQ wasn't anything to boast about, but they are known to get extremely loud.

heard a malibu wakeboarding boat with three treo tsx's and a c2k 9.0 on them. i think it is the best sounding bass i have ever heard. super clean, tight, accurate bass. the deeper bass was rich and powerful sounding.

The popular subs right now are the Resonant Engineering XXX, Adire Audio Brahma, JL w7, Soundsplinter rl-P. However, I have never heard any of these so im not speaking from first hand experience. People seem to like them all though!
