Need suggestions on a good clean 1000 watts for my 2 10" subs

Hey guys. Upgrading the subwoofer system. Going to be installing 2 ten inch image dynamics ID10V3's(400 watts max each).

Any suggestions on a good clean 1kilo watt power supply to hook them up to? Budget is a consideration, but will spend the money to get something worth while. Looking for a best bang for the buck situation //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

those subs are rated at 400 rms not 400 max.....also u didnt say what ohm the subs are so im gonna assume they are dual 4....u want to wire them to 1 ohm so u need a 1 ohm stable amp...look for the audio pipe 1000d...will do just fine for the subs and is one of the best bang for budget amps

I have not bought them yet. So they could be either duel 2 or 4's. Whatever ends up being easier to match.

I assumed that the rating (on woofersetc.com) 50-400w meant 400 is the max since I didn't see it listed elsewhere and didn't really look beyond that resource for a number. Is there a different number I should be looking at for that?

Yeah was figuring going with 1 ohm, was mostly curious on brands/model. Over the last month as I researched speakers I heard a lot about smaller brands like ID and hybrid audio tech, just looking some some similar smaller brands on amps that are a good buy for the money.

the smaller brands are usually better then the big brands but what are small brands to u are big brands on the inside of the car audio world. and they are rms because the 400 still has rms next to it...but are u looking for 10's only?

Yeah 10's only I think. 12's require too much space and the boxes are going in an M3 coupe so I don't think its necessary to go much beyond that. I get you on the RMS. Not sure what max is, but figured an extra 20% onto the top of their power requirements would give them enough juice even during a tough moment.

Small brand? Maybe I mean independent brand? Speaker wise what I mean is hybrid is small to me, image dynamics, couple others that build quality subs, but you wont find them at bestbuy. Maybe that's a better description.

Small is maybe the wrong word, just not kicker or polk, know what I mean?

ya i get what u mean...but once u spend some time on this site u will see why people dont really recc. the big brands....but for subs of the same price i would honestly go with the sundown SA10...very clean loud and low sub...sundown makes some great quaily items. either those or a pair of 10 inch SSA dcons and a less stronger amp those will do amazing work

My build is oriented towards quality, i had heard the image dynamics subs were clean hitting/tight and very "musical" in a small sealed closure. I have enough room to make approximately 2, .7cubic feet boxes. I Listen mainly to hardstyle, house, electro, hardtrance.

What is your draw towards sundown? They are 185 vs 159 for the ID10's, watt/$ is better, but overall price may be prohibitive for me =/

if ur going sealed then dude stick with the id's or u could run these...its a toss up between these 2

TC Sounds Epic 10" DVC Subwoofer

both subs are amazing no joke u cant go wrong with either but id take the tc sounds

Similar price range. Will have to do some research, thanks for the suggestion. Offhand looks like TC probably a little beefier wattage wise.

with the audio pipe amp i showed u it will be fine....u wont kill the sub by underpowering it if u have ur gains and electrical set up right....but like i said go with either of them because both will be amazing...

both are geared towards SQ and both do great in sealed...also the id will be more musical while i think the tc will be a bit louder

Thanks for the info. Think I am going to keep the ID's. If nothing else I like the logo more. I am probably going to pick up that audio pipe amp, doesn't come with a remote though so have to find that elsewhere. Great value for an amp, everyone seems to be happy with them and they are underrated.

dont ever.....ever....ever ever ever ever use the **** amp remotes ur asking to clip

ur better off setting ur gains with a dmm and controlling ur bass off the headunit......people think the amp remote is a **** volume knob or something and u will blow those subs quick
