I currently have 2 jl 10w3v2's. They are dual 4 ohm voicecoils, each sub handles 300 watts RMS. So i need an amp that will put out around 600 watts at either 4 ohms, or 1 ohm. As for price, I'm not looking for a top end amp, just something that will do that job, so ideally I'd like to keep it under $200, but am willing to spend a bit more if absolutely necesary.

alright, thats good to hear, i was considering a hifonics. any idea what the difference between all the series are (nemeis, zues, brutus, etc)?

Hey i have a like new jbl pv 600.1 i'd sell for $170 plus shipping. Theye are $220 brand new...works great, no problems what so ever. 300x1 @4ohm, 600x1@ 2ohm, 600x1 @1ohm all are rms. It's a little underrated so @ 1ohm (**which you can wire you're dual 4ohm subs to**) it'll give you arounf 650-700 rms. peace

seeing as this is a thread asking which amp is best for my application, convince me why i should be yours, and i'll buy it. In other words, why should i take yours over any of the suggestions above?

Well, IMO and the few hifonics and jbl i have dealt with...i've like the JBL over hifonics everytime. I've owned an 80.4 and a 600.1 and used a 1200.2 from JBL. From hifonics, i've used the bx1500d, an older eagle series line 4x45 watts amp, and one other one. IMO, they are comparable in price, but the JBL has a little more solid durability. I have two friends with 600.1's and they love them. To me they are GREAT amps for the money, and they actually put out their rated rms wattage. Hifonics...i heard is questionable. peace

I value your opinion; however, you have to understand why I think it may be a bit biased. but show me some hard facts, not opinions, and I may be convinced.....

sounds like you are buying a car not an amp.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i think jbl is probably more true to their specs than hifonics, jbl 600.1 will be fine...

if u gonna do hifonics do the 1000d or the 1500d, don't do any of the other models....

but why not a nine.1?

There's nothing wrong with the non-Brutus lines from Hifonics, so I'm not sure why you don't like them...seems that you're a little biased against them. The Nemesis series may be slightly overrated, while the Zeus series seems true to specs if not slightly underrated - despite the fact they're both rated at 14.4v. The JBL amps may be of slightly better build quality, but not enough to justify spending significantly more on them. You may want to check out some US Acoustics amps too.
