Hey everyone, I’m new on here and I’m a “noob” when it comes to car audio. I drive a 2008 Legacy SpecB and I’ve done some work to the sound system in it. I’m running four Alpine Type-S speakers powered by a Cadence 4 channel amp. I’m also running a 12” Memphis Audio subwoofer powered by a MTX monoblock amp. I’m limited to the OEM headunit because it is a custom size/shape and has the climate control integrated into it as well. I’ve been using two cheap, basic Scosche line output converters to connect everything to the headunit, but I am tired of the distortion at higher volumes, the lack of clean bass and the restrictions of the factory head’s equalizer.
I’ve been thinking of changing to something like a JL Audio Cleansweep, Audiocontrol LC6i, Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty.1 or the MTX Re-Q5. I’m stuck on my decision though. I’m not sure how to pick the best product for me. I’m thinking of shying away from the Cleansweep because I’ve been told you’re just paying for the price and all it really does is flatten out your EQ. Other than that I’m really stuck on my decision.
I was hoping some people could provide advice/information about their experiences and what they recommend. Thanks everyone!
