Need some help

So, about a month ago I replaced the stock stereo equipment out of my 92 Nissan 240sx. The original speakers were dry rotted, and the deck eventually went out. I went to best buy and picked up two Sony 160watt 4x6's for the front and two 200watt 6.5's for the back. I replaced the deck with a kenwood deck (52x4) that was around $150. All in all it ran me a little over $300 for everything.

My car had a factory amp so I had to figure out how to bypass that, after a while I figured it out and got it working. I then proceeded to installing all of my new equipment. Everything went together pretty easy and I finished in around 2-3 hours. I figured using all of the factory wiring would be ok.

I turned the car on and everything seemed fine and sounded great until I cranked the volume up to around 22 (0-35 is the volume scale) and the sound became very distorted. Up above 30 the sound is completely fuzzy and not even recognizable. Even below 22 the bass is pretty weak although it still sounds pretty good.

Ive been using it the way it is until now, but now I would like to see what my problem is. It doesnt seem right that each of my speakers have almost 200watts capacity, yet they cant even hold 2/3 of my deck's power without distorting. Its sad when my buddies have stock 50watt systems that sound better than mine.lol. I'm wondering if it could be my wiring, although I'm not sure.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Thanks for the quick response, but I realize the stuff isn't the top of the line, but thats all i could afford. I mean I cant even get to 75% power without it distorting. Could wiring have anything to do with it?
