Need some help

I got a new project in mind. im trying to find a way to play a song through my home stereo when the door bell is pressed. In general when somone rings the doorbell my stereo or computer will activate and play a preset song. If anyone has a clue or knows how to do this or if its not possible let me know.

hmmm... good project. if u left the reciever on your home stereo on... just use the headphone jack on your computer, and get a headphone jack(sorry dont know the correct term) to RCA out wire... then connect it to ur stereo..

Seems like you would need some type of relay system to switch the system on... Actually sounds like more work than it's worth...

How good are you at electrical stuff?

Also, what is the voltage at your door bell and what does your stereo consist of?
