Need some help with my system.

Hello everyone, I joined a while ago and forgot to post this up due to lack of time, but I have a few questions..

PS: I would have linked you all the links to the stuff I have so you can all check out the Specs easily, but I can't post links I guess. (I Split up my amp settings link though so please look at that at least)

My current set up:

  • Hifonics Titan TXi 1008D
  • Two 12" Alpine SWR-1042D
  • Subside Ported Box
  • Kenwood KDC-HD552U
  • Kenwood 500 watt speakers.

So here is the problem..

My subs dont bump nearly as hard as they should in my opinion and the subs dont hit hard either.

I've got the Level on my amp up a little below 3/4th the way.. Here is how I have my amp set up

htt p://www.i.imgur.com/5qxrR0Y .jpg (You need to remove the spaces... Cant post many links I guess :/ )

And also, when I unplug the wires from one of the subs and the amp, both of the subs still bump a little.

I had a buddy set up the system so I am wondering if maybe he wired something wrong?

My settings in the CD player reset every time I turn my car on and off, so I know there is at least one wire in the wrong spot or not plugged into the receiver ( Hard Wired )

Does anyone know a solution to this or have any input?

Thanks for taking the time to check out my thread.

Yea have it installed right. The decks power and acc wires are crossed. The subs maybe out of phase as well Disconnect 1 sub and switch the pos and neg wires around. See if they sound better

It seems set up about right. Lower your LPF probably too so you don't get vocals. My experience with Hifonics amps is their voltage sensitivity is pretty low. I had my gain when I owned one at about 4 o'clock to get 32 volts on a DMM. I didn't want to push it hard so i had to run it with a line driver. Also, don't use the Bass EQ its a bass boost. I wouldn't recommend it. Don't be afraid to turn the gain a little more, it was the only way I made my hifonic amp back then push. Just use your ears for any distortion or anything that doesn't sound right.

Of course, i Agree with the top two post. Check the phase of your subs. They can be working against each other cancelling out sound. If thats the problem, I'd still recommend to turn down the Bass EQ.

Sweet, i'll have to search on the internet and figure out which wires are the power and acc wires.

Would that affect the sub in any way?

I dont really understand the phase setting at all :/

And so I unplugged one of the subs from the amp and its side of the box... but it still kicks?!

I also cut new ends on the wire, just to see if maybe it was a faulty connection cause the ends were pretty worn out.

Still no improvement.

I unbridged them while I had both plugged into the sub as well, and no improvement.

Switched both Positive and negatives around, one way sounds like its getting less bass then the other.. so pretty sure the positive and negatives are hooked up right..

Where in ND are you?
I'm down in the Lisbon, Gwinner area.

I turned the Bass EQ all the way down.. I just checked on what Sub Sonic and Phase was. So I will go back out in a moment and adjust those and see if I can figure it out.

Still dont understand how these are not kicking as hard as they should, and why both of the subs work when only one is hooked up to the amp.

The yellow is constant power and red is acc also I'd check to make sure the subs are wires right If your using a 2 channel amp then get a small battery place one wire from the sub to the pos on the battery and the other wire from the sub to the neg on the battery. The sub should move in or out if it moves in then the wire on the pis if the battery is the pos of the the sub If not and the sub move in the the wire on the pos of the battery is the neg of the sub. Do that to the other sub also. Now I need to know what subs and amp you have to see if they are compatible with each other

I have edited the post above Mylows with all my responses to you guys.

My amp is a 1 channel amp, so should I still grab that battery and follow your instructions?

And everything is listed in the original post. Its just all centered //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'll try and find another battery lying around here... Would a regular car battery work fine?

Nice, my mom is from that area. I make it there at least once a year.

If your subs share one big chamber then unhooking one means the other sub is making pressure that's pushing against the other sub from the back.

Okay, yeah they do slightly share a chamber, the sub box is ported down the middle, so they both have a little room to breathe twords the back of the box.

And If you ever come down, hit me up, could use a good opinion on this system :p

I'll finda double A battery then.. But I repeat my Sub is a MonoChannel amp apparently.

honestly your memory wire is not correct FOR SURE. thats why the HU resets itself and if thats messed up then im sure there are other things wrong and its not mechanical its just a wiring issue i mean the decks wires are color coded so they are easy to check if you can get the Deck out just match the colors if it is a basic wiring harness anyways.

but in all honesty i would save yourself the trouble find a shop pay them like 100 bucks or whatever to rewiring everything properly this way you dont risk any REAL damage.

just my opinion

I just tested it with the AA battery, when I hooked the wire up to the AA battery both of the subs pushed out.

By the way, i'm going to take one of my subs out and take a picture and post it up here with the voice coils... Idk if those are setup right or not.
