Need some help with my system.

Ur deck is a kenwood not pioneer. There should be a sub level control on the deck find it and turn it up. Also the amps is ok but you should look into a better one. Now what kind of wires. Brand and size and what kind of box do you have ?

Sorry about the late reply.. Didnt notice you posted here...
Deck: Pioneer KDC-HD552U

Amp Hifonics Titan txi 1008D

Subs Two 12" Alpine Type R's

Also, here is the picture of my voice coils on the sub.

They are wired in parallel so if they are 4 ohms you have a 1ohm load going to your amp. I've heard that hifonics does push out near rated RMS so you should be getting near 1k watts. Your amp is 1ohm stable... Make sure your HU has the bass level all the way up. Its attenuation. and that it was tuned with it up. If the other sub moves without it being connected and they share a chamber thats normal. Its just air. Your mind then thinks sound is coming from it. Try not to use the banana plugs? Just use wire from one coil to the other. And if the subs share a chamber just wire them in parallel directly. Doesn't hurt to try. Go from positive on amp to positive on first sub. then + to + on 2 voice coil. From that 2nd voice coil wire the other + from the other sub then the + of the 2nd sub to the + of the 2nd voice coil on the 2nd sub. Repeat on the Negative terminals. The amp may have two speaker outs but internally they are parallel it doesn't matter where you connect it.

Quick question, do you have the bass control connected and is it turned up? The bass remote is a remote gain level... meaning if your gain is set 3/4ths then on the bass remote turned up all the way would be 3/4ths gain as well.

Lol yeah my bad, I keep getting Pioneer and Kenwood mixed up for some reason.

There is a sub level control on the deck yes, but I shouldnt have to turn that up I didnt think..

I've checked out video's on youtube and everyones subs that are the same as mine kick at least 10 times harder even with me turning up the sub on the deck.

My wires are kind of mixed and matched honestly.

I have a Scocsh 8 guage power wire... and Monster wire hooked up from the subs voice coils to the connector on the box.

If you could look at my voice coils and confirm those are correct that would be awesome... They are both setup different.

I will take a picture of the side with all my wires in a moment and post up a link to the picture.

The Bass EQ is turned down right now, as someone in the previous posts said it was just a bass boost and I should keep it down low.

****, I also messed up my subwoofer model... My subs are SWR-1042D

I just realised this after I took them out of the box.

I'm not too sure on the model of the box as it doesnt say, and the size is unknown as well since I dont have a tape measure... It is ported in the middle between the two subs.

Yeah, I said that you need the EQ down. But the remote bass control that you run with phone cable to the front is a remote GAIN CONTROL. That is used to level off gain when you don't want bass etc. If it is connected that can be turned up all the way because it would just be matching to whatever you have it to at the back.

I also already mentioned to you in my long *** paragraph lol that the way those subs are already wired, it appears you already have a 1ohm load. And also gave you a suggestion on how to do a direct wiring from sub to sub to have a 1ohm load. Me trying right here man lol

Okay, so I need the Sub level on the Receiver turned up?

I turned it up to 15 (Max) and it seems to hit a lot harder, now I guess I just have to tune it to make it sound less blah. lol.

I took out the Red tipped bottom wires from my sub and just cut a wire and did this:

Hooked the two positives on the sub together, and the two negatives together.. Did that for both subs.. So I SHOULD be running at 1 ohm now, correct?

Also, I actually do not have my remote bass control plugged in.. I didnt' know that was really necessary :/

Will any phone cable work? and it would just go to the cd deck right?

1. Power off the radio by holding the source button.2. Go to initial

3. Go to output

4. Change it to rear/rear.

That should fix it.
After I power off the radio... There is no way for me to access any settings :/

I can put it into standby and get a couple different settings but none of them have an option for anywhere close to rear/rear.

Yes, the sub level on the receiver is attenuation. All the way it will send the max voltage your headunit it is rated at. That doesn't clip. Your HU master volume does clip so just turn it up all the way until you hear distortion and then back off until it is gone. That is your max volume for actually listening.

If you wired the subs that way (+ to +, and - to -) and hooked them up on + and - of their own then yes you are pulling a 1ohm load because the speaker terminals on the amp are internally parrallel meaning its the same as connecting one sub to another then to an amp, just makes wiring easier. Any video on youtube on how to wire a 4ohm dual voice coil sub will clear it all out for you.

You don't need the remote bass control, I was just asking if you had it plugged in and could have been possibly turned down. Thats just for you to have near you in case you want to turn down your bass for whatever reason.

To tune your amp, do it by ear if you want a fast non-technical way of doing it. Find out what is your max volume level without distortion like I said and back off until it is gone. Write down the number. After that play at that level with a song you know well and all of its bass notes. Turn the gain until the bass starts to distort, sound bad, or not get any louder just muddier then back off a bit until it still sounds loud but clear.

If you want a little on the safer way of doing it, search up on google "setting gains with a DMM" (digital multi meter). If you don't have one you can pick one up at home depot for like 20 bucks. Some people say you are better off doing it by ear and others say the DMM method doesn't let you use the full potential of your amp. But unless you pay for someone to tune it with an oscilloscope or buy an SMD DD-1 it is your safest way to set your gains IMO.

This is what I can help you out at my best abilities. If anyone else wants to add to it or correct me, go right ahead.

I have a multimeter here at home, I will test it all out tomorrow, thank you guys so much for your help.

Now I just have to fix my CD Receiver wires, then it'll be complete!
