Need some help, with maybe power issues

I have a Alpine BRP-M450 mono amp and I am trying to power a 10" Infinity 1052w Reference Series Dual-Voice Coil sub. The problem I am getting is the sub will randomly power on. then off. For example it will not be working, then I'll turn off and then on the cd player and it will go for a few minutes then stop, then not work for hours if you will, then randomly it will come on for like 20-30 minutes. I am not sure if it is the ground or what, It mainly feels like I am not getting enough power, I don't know, I wonder if my amp can't power the sub, which it really should with no doubt, or maybe my amp could be bad. I am new to the car audio stuff so if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know (I also have the sub wired Parallel, I tried Series wiring but had no luck that way either, same issues)

that amp should power that sub no problem. i would wire it in parallel to get a 2 ohm load. so the whole time the sub cuts out the amp never clicks off?

Yah, it'll be going good then the sub will shut off, so I'll go look, and the amp is still on. I wonder if my amp is just not grounded good enough or maybe somthing is taking power away from it.
