Hey guys! I haven't posted since 2006!!!!!! I got out of the car audio stuff when I got to college. Into pro audio now since I'm in a frat, have a pretty good setup but we need more bass... so I'm back!
I still remember how to build boxes so I just need advice on the woofers. The installation is a bit unusual since it will be stationary and I don't know much about the best woofers these days. Here's my parameters:
I'm willing to buy used, new, whatever to get the cheapest loudest subs possible. Sound clarity is not terribly important. Durability is definitely a strong point. I have potentially unlimited box size so it would be wise to take advantage of that.
btw the setup in my signature is STILL WORKING!!!! poly mids blew but everything else (subs, amps, headunit) is still working like new. I'm especially amazed that the Ascendant Audio subs are still working. I run them at twice their rated power in the car and they haven't blown up IN EIGHT YEARS

- woofers must be a 4 ohm load to the single channel amplifier
- woofers must be able to handle 1500w RMS or close to it. Pro audio stuff is not over rated like most car amps
