:( need some advice or help

I would suggest your problem lies with the amplifier you're trying to use is simply not enough amp to do that Fosgate HE2 real justice. And, if like previously mentioned, if it is a Dual 4 Ohm VC subwoofer, that Lightning Audio amp isn't suited to powering a driver with that particular configuration even if it did have enough output to do you any real good. Really what we need is specifics about that particular sub to really try to guide you further. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

what amp would yall suggest to get for that sub but i might get a 12" sub soon.. this is just my first system so i dont know much im just learnin a whole lot.. if i get a sub different from the sub i have would it make a differences what amp i should get ..? i want a amp with enough power to make it hit hard but not for like a whole lot of money

so how will i know if its a DVC ? would it say on the back?? and how owuld i get a mono rca input??

If there are two seperate positive and negative terminals on the sub, then it is DVC (dual voice coil), but it should have some text as to the ohm load.

And I dont see why he is telling you to go to get a mono RCA cable, all you need to do is run the amp in stereo (one channel per voice coil), and it will achieve the same effect..

Edit- How much are you willing to spend on a new amplifier?

It will say on it the magnet will have two places to hook up wires.

You can make yourself a mono output several ways- one your amp might have a mono switch on it. Two, you go to radio shack or best buy, get a dual female to one male splitter, then get one femal to two male splitter, and hook one splitter up to the cables, then one up to the splitter into the amp. That's how I would do it.

All in all, a diff amp would be the best way to go.

A wiring kit from Wal-Mart?? I had no idea they sell wiring kits.....that's your problem tho. That's the worst quality that you can buy. Ebay sells really good quality name brand wiring kits for pretty cheap.

Wow. I'm sorry but your a ****ing genius. You've never heard of wiring kits from wal-mart.. yet your saying they're shit? ... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

They are actually rather nice. I bought a 4gauge kit from them about a year ago.. and am still using it till today. Never had any probs out of it.. Overall I would recommend them to anyone who was working on a lower budget.
