Those REV's are some nice cheap componets. I would hit those up. To bad he dont want to amp them besides the HU.

So I mentioned these Revs to my source and he says they're good speakers, they'll sound decent, but to get the full affect of them, they will need to have an amp. He said the JBLs will sound good both ran from the head unit or an amp. Also, he said that there is no warranty with the Pioneers. Its not offered unless you get like Mobile 1 to install them.

Even if I did add an amp, I'm still getting no warranty.

theres 1 year manufactures warranty for the revs. im pretty sure they will honor it cause partsexpress is pretty reputable.

i dont agree with pioneer if you just looking to replace stock speakers use infinity they never destort even at high volume from stock deck they are well priced also

Yes, he's not wanting to upgrade the factory head unit and really doesn't want to add amps. He merely wants to replace what's in there and that's 6 1/2" in the front doors and 6x9" in the rear.

I would give a listen to some speakers at your local shop. They generally have what you are interested in hooked up and ready to audition.

The speakers mentioned here will do fine for your fathers needs.

I would definately deaden the doors to maximize the sound quality of the speakers. That will make a tremendous difference.
