Looking for a ported box design for my malibu wagon. running single 10" Massive Audio Kilo 104. listen to mixture of rock, metal, hiphop and electronc. i understand there will be a range sacrifice to be more musical/rounded. since the sub will be positioned in the middle of the trunnk are would like to do 2 round aero ports to keep the install looking symetrical. if you need the manual for all the specs jst pm me and i can foward the manual.

Is this what you got?

Why the asymmetrical insistence?.. a single port can look killer...

It's a wagon you say?... you stated a "trunk"... does it have one too?

I would put it in 1.5cf tuned to 33hz. It needs a good amount of space for decent low end extension. 2 rear facing round ports won't be feasible due to the required length. Either fire the ports to the side or use a slot port fired to the rear.

What kind of amp are you using?

Will be ran on a massive audio N3. i guess i can settle on a single rear fire slot port. what size will my port need to be. does that 1.5 cubic feet include woofer and port displacement?

24 sq inches of port area, 2x12 to make it easy. That gives a ratio of 16sq inches per cubic foot.

1.5cf does not include sub, port or bracing displacement.

The Kappa's have a high sensitivity rating of 93 db so the X802-5 would be fine. A good high sensitivity 8" sub in a properly sized box would fit...
