I have a pair of American Bass VFL Extremes that I want to do a little SPL project with. I have 2 RD D9s for power and a lot of room for an enclosure. I am interested in getting as loud as possible on the windshield with 2 10"s in a large SUV (Acura MDX or Honda Pilot). Any tips? Good place to start? I was thinking maybe a side firing port tuned around 40hz (I peak at ~38hz)//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Considered a 4th or 6th order, by chance? If you're looking for a standard slot ported box, take a look towards Thorshammer and his build log.

On a lighter note, your avatar looks like a friend of mine down here in GA.

I think these would be more suited towards a 6th order and I'm all game for one, I just dont know how to design them at all //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif I have been following Thorshammer but I dont know how well what he's doing in a trunk is going to work in a big SUV.

oh and my avatar is my ex... should probably change that lol.

size of aero's depends on box size, then you need to find the length by tuning to your loudest freqs

single 8 works great for two 10's, waiting to find another hdc, the concepts are decent in there.

3 cubes 39hz. A little big.

try 8 cubes and 3 6 inch aeros at 8.5 inches long. should do around 150 at 56 hertz then cap off 1 or 2 ports for everyday listing. 1 port should be around 46 hertz and 2 capped should be around 36 - 40 hertz
