I have 2 15" Kicker CompVR's on the way, and I'm trying to decide what kind of box to build. Is there any way to keep the low bass loud *and* to keep the punchy bass hitting hard? I have no problem making a ported box, even though it would be huge, but from what I've heard, the low frequencies would sound awesome but the punchy bass (bass drum kicks, etc....) would suffer. Is this true? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

what kinda volume would I be sacrificing with a decent sized sealed box as opposed to a larger, lower frequency ported box? For now, these are just for my listening pleasure, but later on I'd like to start competing.

One more question and then I'll shut up. I really do want to do a ported box, but from what I've read on Thiele/Small specs (spelling, i know), subs with a QTS (whatever that is) of .2-.4 are optimal for ported enclosures, but the 15" CompVR's have a QTS of .521. Would that matter all that much if the box was constructed properly? Also, for a sealed box, in your opinion, about how much space would each sub need to hit deep, but to also kick kinda hard? I suppose no matter what kind box I make for 'em they'll hit deep, just cause they're 15's, but it would really **** to listen to metal with no bass drum kicks coming from the trunk. My interiors now sound good, but they have about as much bass response as a quiet burp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif BTW, thanks for all the help.
