Need help

here the deal I have 2 Kicker L7's that I thought were blown, one is definatly blown I can see that the voice coil is unwound. but the other visually looks ok and when you push on the cone it moves freely. but the problem is I had someone I know hook it to his amp and sound came out of it at low power, but when we turned up the volume it the amp went into protect mode. then I disconnected the sub and pulled the remote line off the amp and hooked it back to the speakers he had it on, reconnected the remote line and it played for a few seconds then quit playing sound the RF logo is still lit up and the protect light never went on..... any ideas? but still no sound... what would cause a sub to do this to a amp?

But will a blown sub fry an amp? cause the amp is not powering good subs either now

very possible, the coil in the subwoofer can short

son of a *****. I just dont get why it kicked in for a little bit when we hooked it back to his subs then nothing....

I feel like crap now, I sold the guy this amp a few weeks back then he seen I had the subs for sale, I listed them as blown but he wanted to test them..... ****it

I didnt realize a blown sub could kil a amp or I would have just tossed them in the garbage and been done with it
