need help with windows update!!! plz help

ok i just got moved into my dorm at UNCP, but to access RESNET (the T3 network in all the dorms) i have to use "cicso clean sweep" , ive done all that but clean sweep wont let me a free pass to use the net until i download and install all the windows update (from microsoft.com) so it gives me a 20 minute pass each session

so i go to auto update , download all the microsoft updates but during installation it does nothing, it just stays there not moving or anything... wtf?! do i just leave it there for a few hours and it will do its thing or what? im tired of having to use 20 minute passes just to use the freakin internet, i want my **** t3 connect! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

your dorm has a t3? i doubt very much do you know how big a t3 is (also known as a DS3)

A T3 is equivalent to 28 T1's, each T1 has 24 channels, a T3 has 672 channels a T3 is almost 45megs a second.

now i can see it if the dorm was using the same connection as the entire university then yea but not he dorm itself

ok nevermind windows update is just extreemly **** slow , i dunno how fast it is but its pretty **** fast it downloaded the 80 meg updates in about .000000000002 seconds just took forever to actually install them

Your university should have an IT hotline to help you out in situations like this.
