Need help with vent dimensions

I'm making a ported box for an alpine type R 12".

The recommended vent is 12"x1.25" by 22" deep.

Without getting into two much details, my only options are these two choices of vent dimensions.

1. 44"x1.8" by 4.3" deep

2. 50"x0.8" by 8.5" deep

I would like to get some opinions on which you guys would prefer. Thanks.

Just for size and being less skinny...the first one, but neither sound like too great of options //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif But I dont get why the one with the larger area is shorter..?...it should be the other way around if youre aiming for the same tuning in each situation...

Increase port size = increase tuning frequency

Increase port length = lower tuning frequency

So, if youre going larger on port area and dont want the tuning frequency to go up, you're going to have to increase the length as well...
