I am needing to get more SPL from my sub to be more competive in DB drag's. I have run 2 diffrent box calulaters on my sub and here's what they give me. 3.12 cubic feet ported.Does this sound right, speaker Q .5016 Elect. Q .5390 Mech Q 7.2317 Vas. 44L I have no spec's on X-MASS,but like 20-30 mm. Would 3.12 cubic feet be to much, the sub's rec. 1.5-2.0 cubic feet ported. I'm going to tune to like 50HZ,Would that be the best freq. for SPL.

Would 40-45 be for all out SPL comp's. I will have a diffrent box for daily driveing. I was happey with the 138.8 for my first time out with a box I designed and built my self with a pair of sub's that cost less than $200 delivered to my door. I was tuned at 27 HZ ...would a higher freq have hit a higher figure?

all bs aside, you should find you car's resonant freq. and have the box peak at that. all cars are different. usually 45-55 and thats where the recommendations for the 40-45 tuning freq. comes in. my cavalier' resonant freq. is unusually low, about 38-40. make the box large and have a lot of port area. there are a ton of tips and trick to get your spl up. but with out knowing you exact set up its a little hard to give suggestions.

playing with off brads can be fun. i know a guy that was doing mid 140's with 4 10" roadgears.

x2, sometimes u can do a search and find the frequency easily. what kinda car?

thats impressive... lol how long did they last tho?
I remember seeing someone toss up close to 150 with 6 Wallymart 12's (or something along those lines). He didn't care if they blew because they were only $25 or so to replace. It was a great vid too.
