Need help with ported box plans

lower tuning provides more coverage of sound freqs or lower end bass, not better sound quality. sound quality will depend on the sub and the signal being provided to the sub.

with the type r you dont need to tune at 28Hz to cover those lower freqs.

so going with the 1.25cuft@35Hz or the 1.5 @ 35Hz should give you decent lows and still cover a nice range of frequency or upper bass. the 1.5cuft @35Hz will give you same frequency range at a bit higher volume.

I figgued the 1.25@32 would be pretty close to the 1.2 @ 33 you suggested. That 1.25 is net, total volume is around 1.9.

IS there an easy way to add or subtract length to the port to change the tuning

Thanks

Matt

you mean to the port once its built in to the enclosure?

if its a round port. you can add an adapter to it that will allow you to extend the port to what ever new length you want. but you have to subtract the displacement of the new port to the enclosure volume to calculate the new tuning.

you can also do it to a slot ported enclosure but its a bit harder because of the size of the port walls. but its possible.
