Need Help with OS ijnstall

1. Make sure ISO is burned as an image onto a disc using Nero or some other burning program. I believe if you just burn it as data it will not boot from it.

2. Make sure you have all of your shit backed up.

3. Boot to cd, follow directions to delete the current partition, create new partition, install.

Thanks for reminding me that I need to install Windows 7 on my work laptop. They have been *****ing at me for not participating in the testing of the OS.

yeah dude didnt burn it right or something, but it still shows up as an iso

i tried to boot from cd and it just start vista normally.

first thing you need to do is make sure you have the .iso burned to the disk properly. as said above burn using nero or some other burning program. once the image is burned its a simple matter of changing the boot priority to dvd from the bios and then install it.

LINK Best little iso burner I've used. It should install itself into the shell so when you right click the iso it will come up with an option to "Burn using IMGBurn", if not right click and hit open with and select imgburn from program files.

Once you boot into the DVD, accept any agreements. Shortly there after you will see the partitions on your computer, you may have several depending on the model laptop (for instance hp will have one named "HP_xxx," another called "recovery").

Click on the largest partition there, and click format on the bottom. If format does not show up, click advanced then same thing and hit format.

Follow the rest of the on-screen prompts

You may not even have to go into BIOS to get it to boot to cd. When it boots and the BIOS flash screen comes up showing the brand of PC or Motherboard it should say like press DEL to enter BIOS or press like f9 for boot priority. You should then be able to choose the cd rom drive and you are good to go.
