Okay i just ordered 2 dual voice coil 4ohm alpine type r 12s 500rms, and i was wondeing what you guys think i shuld use as a amp, also would it be better to go ported box or sealed, they are going in a 98 camaro, any info greatly appreciated!

Go ported. Get an amp that does 1000w+ at 1 ohm.

in that car there isnt too much room for a ported box for a pair of `12's unless he went with aeroports.

keep that in mind.....its a tiny cargo area

Wire them in parallel

And it's not really hard as long as your semi-hands on, just have someone get you some specs after you get dimensions

23" high, 31" long give or take, its hard to explain my trunk

For a box 4.5 cubes @ 33 works well for those subs. For amps, an AQ 1200 or Sundown 1500 would work well.

@jake would you happen to know the dimensions by any chance? havent built any ported boxes
