Need help with my new HU

its a pretty common HU so im sure someone can tell me how to do this, it would be much appreciated. I switched decks witha buddy and now im not only getting bass through my subwoofer, im getting audio through it aslo...how do i stop this? I tried messing around with the settings on the deck but there is just way too many different settings, too confusing for me. Also does anyone have the little plastic frame that fits around the face plate? it looks dumb without it.

Need to turn the low pass filter on

Or

Make sure the rca's are plugged into the sub preouts

If they're in the rear outs (and like my pioneer deck) make sure the headunit is set so it's subout and not full range going to them

i couldnt find the low pass filter, but i dicked around with just about EVERY setting and no changes... i cant go past ten or it sounds ****in terrible.

if thats an alpine, it may be like mine and have a full range sub preamp.

The LEVEL of the sub can be set, and so can a boost at various frequencies, but it does NOT have a LP filter built in. You can buy inline RCA LP filters that work OK if your amplifier doesnt have one built in.

nope. the amp im using is some crappy jbl 150 watt, but its just pushing a 10" type-s they are temperary sence i sold my w3's and had no bump at all. i borowed them from a friend, but if im going to get audio through my subwoofer ide rather just rip the shit out.
