Need help with itouch and Alpine CDA-105

Just bought the Alpine CDA-105 head unit, and speakers. Had them installed, and everything working fne.

My question is as follows.

When I hook up the itouch to the cable, the head unit plays the songs fine, but the unit menu style is not user friendly at all.

Is their some way to by pass the unit menu, and use the itouch screen to play the music while it's hooked up? Is their an option on the unit to set this, and/or some kind of adapter to put in between the itouch and cable to allow the itouch screen to be used?
