Need help with feedback problem

I just want a more experienced opinion before i pull apart my car again..

So i decided to hook my subs up into my new car (dodge caliber 2007) but for the first time i wanted to use the stock radio, so im like ok no big deal I'll youtube that ****, so i got that converter box and hooked the negs to the front right negs speaker and positives to the positives of the same speaker no problem.. so heres the thing i spent all day running the cables and **** so at the end the sun was going down so i said **** it and taped the brown ground wires to some bare metal that holds the radio in place because most of my references said most people wont even need to ground it, now also to save time i never adjusted the "gains" on the outout converter for the same reason as the grounds...

So heres the thing, whenever i go to plug in the ground wire to the amp (with the car off) my subs start to get a feedback that starts low and builds to an earblasting tone until i disconnect the power, so i'm trying to figure out if it's a ground issue or if it's because i didnt adjust and/or ground the output converter properly

I think it might be the output wires because when i disconnect either or both of those wires from the amp with the ground still attached the feedback stops, although that might be because the amp just knows not to go off with nothing plugged into it i have no idea...

Which brings up another thing i didnt intend for which is for the subs to be on when the car is off... because i wasnt sure where to connect my remote wire in a stock radio

. So i just figured id connect it to the power cord to the radio, which is when i realised there were two so im like **** it and just went with the top one.. which im now starting to wonder if one was an "in" and the other was "out" and i was supposed to connect it to the out if thats even how these things work...

Long story short im a retard when it comes to car audio and ive never had an issue installing with an aftermarket radio but couldnt install subs to a stock radio to save my life, thanks in advance lol
