Need help with computer

ok so my laptop has headphones plugged into it, when i play music in itunes i hear it in my headphones, no problem there, but the problem is when i watch netflix online, the movie will only play through my speakers and not my headphones. I can actually have itunes playing music and netflix playing a movie and i will hear itunes in my headphones and netflix in my speakers, how can i fix this so netflix will play through my headphones

so your headphones work while your speakers work too.

Is this headphone jack also a line out jack?

i'm gonna go to a wild guess but try this-

Go into your volume control under entertainment and in the recording part of it, select What u hear.

go back to the playback part of it and check everything so u can have a list of everything.

Now, go through everything that is now visible-

unmute everything but microphone and line in. See if that helps.

You should be able to narrow it down if that helped.

Does netflix require some application to watch their movies?

Try reinstalling it?

try reinstalling your audio drivers?

u just gave me an idea...

If the headphone jack is a line out, it's possible that the streamed netflix movies are protected... maybe DRM protected which prevents unauthroized reproduction through line out jacks, kinda like macrovision for dvds

actually, netflix requires silverlight.

Try the volume control thing too.

Maybe something in the silverlight plugin that prevents the capability as well.
